About me

As you can tell from my website name, Lisa Knows Safety, this site is about ME and my love and knowledge of safety.

I have been in love with workplace safety since the 1990’s—yes way back when VCRs were popular. I got my first job as a Behavioral Safety Coordinator (oooh fancy title) and have never looked back. My goal of starting this website was to provide information to those who may just be starting out in their safety career. Or, maybe those safety professionals who simply need a new idea, a jump start, or some enthusiasm for their program.

Over the years, I have been invited to speak at conventions on various topics regarding lockout tagout, confined spaces, safety training, and OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program. And many times, I have been told, “You should write a book! You have so many ideas to help others in the same role.” So, after too many years putting it off, I finally did it! My book has been published and is now available on Amazon! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed compiling all the stories and examples.

Stay tuned for the big release party!

I started this website to have a place where I can share best practices or ideas about workplace safety. I am learning to navigate the upkeep of a website, so bear with me as I learn to upload useful resources that you can access for FREE! I love free stuff and also things that I know people have tested or proved so that I don’t have to reinvent the wheel.

Although I am sharing my ideas, please connect with me on LinkedIn or send me an email if you have a question. I will try to help in any way that I can. When I started out in safety, I was lucky to have some great mentors and I would like to pay the favor forward!
